Hello Ibu,
The great gift of family life is to be intimately acquainted with people you might never even introduce yourself to, had life not done it for you.
And in time of test, family is best.
Best wishes to your family members and you.
Have a pleasant week, Lee.
Thanks for the wishes Uncle Lee. True indeed..family will always be there whenever you need them or not..Cherish them while we still have them around...
No one knows what the future hold for us...Enjoy and live well Uncle Lee..Keep smiling..:)
Hello Ibunim, I just remembered you dari Alor Star.
I used to go to Alor Star very often wayyyy back in the early 80's, as was involved in that Hydro and dam project there.
Used to put up at the Merlin Hotel.
Anyway, there was a coffee shop opposite the hotel, and there was this Malay makcik selling nasi lemak.
I would order 2 packets of her delicious nasi lemak...
And till today whenever the topic of nasi lemak comes up, I will say the one I had in Alor Star to me, 'the best'!
One time my wife and aunty ikut saya to Alor Star, as they ta'pernah pergi sana.
And in the morning I introduced them to the makcik's nasi lemak...
and they too say it was one of the best they ever ate.
I guess as the years have passed, I don't think the makcik might be around, maybe still is.
Would you by any chance know of that particular shop? And tried the nasi lemak?
And ahemmm, incidentally dated a lovely Malay lady there too, *wink*, ha ha...but only for lunch and dinners when I was there.
You have a nice day Ibu....Lee.
Merlin hotel is no longer in Alor Setar. It's now called Regency Hotel..Soo many hands had been passed. I cant recalled kedai nasi lemak there..It's no longer there for sure coz there are few new buildings around the area now, unless she had prospered and opened up a restaurants by now.
During those days, there's nothing much going on around there..Now, Alor Setar is not so bad although the town is dead by 10pm.
It good to know that you have not been lonely wherever you are then, right?
You be good now U Lee and keep smiling..
TQ Kak Anim!!! I'm always grateful to Allah for giving me you.
Let's have one day to ourselves when we can go out and shop/have fun till we drop! Bila boleh no?
DDI...It's always a pleasure to go out with you..but as you may not know..I'm not the shopaholic type but would not mind waiting around while you went out shopping...I could get myself a blouse or 2..
